(Journalist Mary Kilobi Atwoli and husband – the COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli)
Journalist Mary Kilobi’s marriage with COTU secretary General Francis Atwoli is reportedly on the rocks.
Kilobi who has the final say in the relationship due to her younger and appealing look to the Mzee, says she is an unhappy wife because her husband spends all his time attending political functions including following BBI meetings at the expense of family time.
For awhile now, Kilobi who is more possessive on the polygamous Atwoli has been overheard telling friends how the COTU Boss Mr Francis Atwoli returns home late in the night, too tired for her conjugal rights and often falls asleep on their living room at a time she expects some good time with her husband.
The TV queen who dumped Jack Wanami for Atwoli is now telling friends that she is contemplating leaving him if he does not create time for her.
The KTN’s Kiswahili TV anchor while dumping Wanami claimed that Mr Wanami was not serious and that, they never married. “I have never been married before, in fact, it is him (Wanami) who used to stay in my Lang’ata house. I never went to his house for the three years of our disastrous courtship,” she said
Atwoli and Kilobi met in Uganda in 2005, when she was at Makerere University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Kiswahili. She was an intern at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) in Kampala at the time, where the COTU Boss had gone for an interview.
Six years later, when she returned to Kenya, Kilobi and Atwoli began having a thing after Atwoli made known the feelings he had for her. They later got married and their love has been blossoming each day.
All through, Atwoli has been there for her save for the BBI train that must have carried him away.
Francis Atwoli is not new to controversy emanating from the women he loves. His first drama began with the second wife Roselinda Atwoli back in 2017 when she expressed interest to run for Webuye West parliamentary seat. It later deteriorated. Now Kilobi is next in line. This too might turn ugly if the trade unionist will not change his ways.
