(Particulars of the nabbed robbers in Nyandarua and Nyahururu)
Officers from directorate of criminal investigations (DCI) have this morning, following a series of robberies reported within Nyahururu and Nyandarua West Sub Counties, tracked down the Robbers and arrested them.
The DCI detectives from the Special Service Unit managed to arrest two suspects namely David Kireithi Mwangi and Harrison Kihara Njiraini at Kasuku town in Nyandarua County.
“The two together with others who are still on the run had been involved in several robbery with violence incidents which include; Violently robbing an AP officer off his Ceska Pistol on 23/11/2019, robbery incident at Karai area along Nyeri- Nyahururu road on 30/11/2019 where they robbed off Ksh 3,000 from their victim and dropped a ceska pistol magazine with ten rounds of ammunition, after they were confronted by motorcycle riders.” Reads part of the DCI statement
According to DCI detectives, the same gang robbed several motorists off their ignition keys along Olkalou- Nyahururu road on 1/12/2019 and were involved in another robbery with violence incident on 8/02/2020 at Success bar in Nyahururu town where revellers lost their valuables.
The detectives reveals that it’s upon interrogation that the said robbers led the detectives to a makeshift structure in Nyahururu town where a Ceska pistol that had been stolen from an AP officer on 23/11/2019 was recovered.
Efforts are underway to track down their accomplices.
