Every time Kenya Defence Forces, KDF, are recruiting new officers, there are always cases of corruption where tens of hundreds youths ends up finding their way to the Eldoret Recruit and Training School, RTS, with fake KDF admission letters yet the DCI is silent on this.
This year was not any different more than 99 youths were arrested at the RTS on January 26, 2020 and were today charged before Eldoret Principal Magistrate Naomi Wairimu. A section of them pleaded guilty of the charges read before the court and were subjected to a six-month jail sentence with an alternative Sh20,000 fine each while the rest of the group denied the accusation and were subjected Sh30,000 cash bail or Sh100,000 bond.
It’s a common knowledge that there is a well-connected military officers behind this syndicate where innocent youths are duped into buying fake KDF admission letters.
It’s shocking that this syndicate is almost becoming a norm yet DCI is silent as thousands of innocent youths are duped with fake admission letters
