Swach Bharat Abhiyan
Loosely translated as “Neat and Tidy India Mission”, the “Swach Bharat Abhiyan” is a nation-wide campaign in India since 2014 with a soul purpose of cleaning up roads, streets, infrastructure of India’s cities, towns, and rural areas. It helped in eliminating open defecation through the construction of household-owned and community-owned toilets and establishing an accountable mechanism of monitoring toilet use.
