Nasa leader Raila Odinga has on May 1, called off the boycott against Safaricom, Bidco, Haco and Brookside products; asked Kenyans to trade with the mentioned companies.
Speaking during the celebration of international labour day at Uhuru park, the former prime minister Raila Odinga lifted the boycott which him together with other NASA leaders urged their supporters in October 2017 to resist for they were supporting their rival, jubilee. “Today, I announce the end of the boycott of products from Safaricom, Bidco, Brookside and Haco. Our supporters are now free to use products from these companies we had asked them to boycott last year,” he said.
In the same event, COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli has commended President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for accepting to work together. He further urged them to amend constitution to accommodate Uhuru Kenyatta once his term comes to an end. “We must amend constitution to accommodate Uhuru, he us too young to go anywhere,” he said.
Mr. Atwoli also urged President Uhuru Kenyatta not to be wary of those opposing their handshake because Raila’s support is enough;
“I am telling President Uhuru Kenyatta, when you have Raila Odinga you don’t need any other support because he has suicidal supporters from Nyanza and across the country,” Atwoli said.
