Social media was treated to a buzz on Tuesday 13, 2018, a day to Valentine’s day, when a screenshot of a purported chat between Rongo MP Hon. Paul Abuor and a married lady of the Seventh Day Church faith leaked online.
Hellen Abuor, a business guru and a mother of three children has come in defence of her dear husband terming the claims as mere propaganda and a way pinning her husband down. She spoke to 254 News saying, “My husband has never cheated on me for the over 30 years we have been married,”. Adding, “Before he was elected as the Rongo MP, my husband was working in Mombasa and nothing sinister was reported to me nor have I complained…I used to visit him without notice and not even a single day did I suspect him nor notice suggestive moves. I love him”.
In the screenshot chat shared, a number linked to the Rongo MP promised many offers in his advances to the lady in subject that included a tender to construct a road leading to the lady’s church, Central SDA Church Rongo, and Kshs. 20, 000 for her logistics to Nairobi where the MP was allegedly planning to have her for valentine. The woman in the chat ended up rejecting these offers citing her strong faith and the guilt that would come with such acts.
254 News can authoritatively reveal that the screenshot itself is fake. According to it, the chat began by a good morning greeting yet the time as was evident in the screenshot was 11pm. Again if a contact is not saved on WhatsApp, it would start with a +2547 and then the five digits would follow. For this one, the people behind this propaganda saved Hon. Paul Abuor’s number as the name that they could accomplish their mission.
This is not the first time Rongo Constituency is involved in such love triangle stories. A couple of years back, former MP Dr. Ochilo Ayacko was allegedly caught in the act with the wife of former Principal of Kanga High School Mr. Kaunda Ogweno.
